Merchants Against Methamphetamine

Please participate with "Merchants Against Methamphetamine".
In an effort to reduce the availability of "precursor chemicals",
the Partnership for a Drug-Free DeKalb County, Inc. is asking your
business to monitor the sale of the following materials. Precursor
chemicals are materials used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
- Ephedrine products
- Myriatic Acid (greater than 28%)
- Coleman Fuel
- Heet
Production, sale, and use of Methamphetamine are problems in DeKalb
County. Please join with us to help monitor the sale of these precursor
chemicals. As Project Director for the Partnership, please let me
assure you that our group does not want to prevent your business
from profiting from the sale of these products to legitimate purchasers,
but we do want to reduce the availability of these products to people
who intend to use them in the manufacture of illegal drugs. Limiting
quantities of the above items will reduce the likelihood that the
materials can be used for Methamphetamine production. Ephedrine-
please sell only one (1) box to a customer at a time. Another way
to prevent drug production would be to carry only wax coated or
time released products. Myriatic Acid - Methamphetamine
producers have reported that 28% acid cannot be used successfully
in production. Heet - gasoline additive - please
do not sell in large quantities not suitable for household use.
Your help is needed and appreciated. Please join with us to help
prevent the manufacture and sale of methamphetamine in DeKalb County.
