Become a Mentor
Make a difference...Be the difference...One life at a time!!!
The purpose of Mentor DeKalb is to provide Mentors to children, or teens, that need a caring and supportive person to help guide them to personal success and to steer them away from the pitfalls of drugs, tobacco, and underage drinking. Mentors are being recruited in the Fort Payne and DeKalb County area. A Mentor, serving as a listener, advocate, role model, and advisor will provide friendship and encouragement to their student. Each school is able to refer a prospective student. Students are to be placed with a Contact Person. A Contact Person is available at each school to coordinate matching volunteers with students in need. High school students can also apply to work with children in lower grades (grades K-6). Mentor DeKalb is a project of Partnership for a Drug-Free DeKalb County, Inc.
